Edible solutions for a sustainable future

Lowering thresholds and costs for successfully growing with Aquaponics

Our Vision
To offer self-sustaining, Ai enhanced regenerative bio-systems and infrastructure for growing, selling and distributing affordable, healthy & sustainable locally produced food today and in the future, regardless what the outer circumstances and climate might be like.

What we do
• We develop, deliver and offer regenerative, CO2 binding, self-sustaining aquaponic systems coupled with Ai to make the tech accessible for a larger market
• We offer maintenance of components and software for aquaponic systems
• We supply franchise growers with seeds, growth material, aquatic life, food for aquatic life, service and management

Our business model
• We lease HOME aquaponic systems to HOME franchise growers.
• We supply growers with subscriptions on seeds, fish food & other consumables
• We take a share in the HOME operator’s future sales, reducing the initial start up cost

Our current status
  • February 2020 - We have officially moved headquarters to Helsingborg, Sweden.
  • December 2019 - We are moving our headquarters to the south of Sweden.
  • September 2019 - We are now working towards creating our first facilities in two areas in Sweden. Our goal is to be up and running with one of these in the beginning of 2020.
  • February 2019 - We received funds from Innovasjon Norge for development of Aquaponic for the home-owner segment.
Distinguishing factors of HOME
  • We apply machine learning/RPA to optimize production.
  • Our software help us and customers manage our ecological footprint
  • We control the fish-food ourselves ensuring that our output is healthy and of highest quality
  • Our software monitors markets and distributes orders to supply local markets with produce that is in demand without the need for cold storage and transports, reducing number of actors involved in the process, giving higher return on crop
  • We lower thresholds for starting to grow aquaponically meaning more people can become franchise growers
  • We cater to sustainable food producers in different scales

Output from our systems

We are able to build and deliver aquaponic systems in different scales catering to home owners, micro-farms, hotels & restaurants as well as large farms. The output from all of them consist of non-toxic vegetables with a healthy full spectrum nutrient content and high quality seafood.

Vegetables, fruits & greens

Since our systems are closed loop systems, we can grow without the need for pesticides, herbicides or fungicides. What is more, the nutrient for the plants come from a symbiotic relationship between our aquaculture and bacteria that breaks down our high-grade fish food to a carefully tailored nutrient composition allowing our plants an optimal growth with a full nutrient spectrum that translates into a full flavor.

Seafood

A closed loop system gives a high degree of protection against disease to our aquaculture. This means that we do not have to pump in any antibiotics into our process. Furthermore, by recirculating the water we let our plants clean the water and thus capture all the nutrients circulating in the system thereby efficiently preventing the waste of valuable and non-renewable resources such as phosphor. Growing shrimps in our system does not entail the devastation of Mangrove swamps to create open ponds susceptible to disease and in need of excessive antibiotics that end up in the final consumer speeding up the spread of antibiotic resistant bacteria while ruining our eco-system.

Scalability

HOME has developed a scalable system that can be placed inside any outer shell allowing our growers to supply themselves and their business only, or making a business out of supplying local markets with climate positive food. As of September 2019 we are concentrating our efforts into implementing our systems in a scale of about 1000 m2 in one location and more than 2000 m2 in another.
We will present the plans for our first reference facility December 2019.

Components - because it is in the details

Since we use the same system, software and components for all of our scales, we are able to lower our hardware cost and help growers lower their consumable and labor costs. We ensure that all units are fed with sustainably produced fodder, eventually to be made in our own facilities to make sure that our system creates resilience instead of depleting our common habitat.

Although Hydroponics in it self tackles some issues such as land use and water management. It still needs nutrients that are mined and non-renewable. Nutrient that needs to be transported to where it is used. And aquaculture in it self, although it can be a good solution to the increasing demand for protein, is often dependent on fish feed consisting of fish caught in the wild or in an attempt to counter that, it is based on soy protein that comes from heavy deforestation and rain forest devastation. Things that are not very sustainable.

We make sure that all the components of our systems are thought through, from beginning to end, and we make sure to make the data will be available so that you too know what it is you support when using our components or when you eat our produce.
